The National Children’s Dental Health Month campaign in February brings together thousands of dedicated educators, dental professionals, health care providers and others to promote the benefits of good oral health to children, their parents, teachers, caregivers and others each and every year.
This year the 2016 NCDHM campaign features the slogan “Sugar Wars” on both sides of the poster. The Smileys, McGrinns and K9 are in a spaceship called the USS SweetSwatter. It is equipped with toothbrush swatters, fighting against the Sweet Tooth Invaders for good oral health. On the reverse side, preteen and teenagers demonstrate effective ways to defeat the effects of sugar and maintain good oral health by brushing, flossing, rinsing and eating healthy snacks.
This year will be the 75th anniversary of the National children’s Dental health Month program. Since it started in Ohio 75 years ago, the concept has grown into a nationwide program that is promoted for the entire month of February throughout the country.
Good oral health habits are formed at an early age. Help your children start on the road to a great and beautiful smile. At Greater Houston Orthodontics, our goal is to teach patients and reinforce good habits with parents on how to keep your kids smiles beautiful now and for years to come, especially during orthodontic treatment when food accumulates around the brackets and wires. If you have any questions or to schedule an appointment, please contact our Memorial Office or West University Office in Houston TX.
